MDesignsStAlbans was established in 2012 when Maurizio decided to abandon his Architectural Model Making career based in London to redirect his skills into a business which could be part of the St Albans community.

After more than 8 years spent collaborating in projects which now form part of the London landscape, furniture making seemed the most natural choice for satisfying his needs for both creative design and hand made crafting.

In his youth Maurizio grew up in Italy orbiting around his grandfather Vincenzo's art gallery and furniture making workshop Arredo Arte, learning the basics of furniture making and oil painting.

In his twenties, after more than two years spent studying engineering, Maurizio moved to England and decided to follow his passion for thinking and problem-solving, obtaining a BA Honour degree in Philosophy at the University of North London.

Soon after he joined Kandor Modelmakers.

Today Maurizio applies his problem-solving skills and his attention to details learned through the modelmaking years to the challenges of building fitted furniture in the awkward spaces and never-so-straight walls of English houses, incorporating in his designs his clients' needs and requirements.

After an initial free consultation and advice Maurizio offers with his services complementary 3D cad models to help visualise design options and see how the furniture will fit within its surroundings.

A 3D cad model and design service is also offered to those planning to extend or convert, or to help visualise architect's floor plans, sections and elevations.
